This week our 5th group of 5k Mamas will complete their training and run in their very first 5k! Last night we ran 3.25 miles and afterwards while cooling down we were chatting and one of the moms said...
"Can you believe we just ran 3.25 miles!?!" and then it happened...
"I know! When we first started and ran 1/8th of a mile I thought there was no way I'm going to be able to do this."
"Ya...and then we ran 1 mile...I had never run that far before!!!"
"I was like 'Yippee!' and jumped up and down!!!"
The comments like this went around the whole circle!! It is so awesome to see the sense of accomplishment and confidence each of them now have. It makes me want to get out and run even more!
We have one more training day until the big Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Good luck Mommas! You will do great!!

Moms on the Run is now in Pearland!
Another one of our fellow Stroller Strides mommies has decided to start a Moms on the Run in Pearland... Here's the scoop...
Moms on the Run - Pearland 5K training program
If you ever dreamed of making it to the finish line, but don't know where to start, this program is for you! Moms on the Run Pearland is an 8 week training session for all moms. Any mom is welcome, whether your baby is 6 weeks or 16! Our program is designed for the beginner runner to accomplish a 5K race (3.1 miles). You will also learn about running form, injury prevention, increasing speed/distance and choosing the right shoe from our certified fitness instructor, Heather Davis. Our fall session begins Thursday September 9th at 7:00 p.m at Southdown Park. Babies and children in jogging strollers are welcome at running sessions.
